David Makovský’s Lecture: From Idea to Successful Exit

As part of the course 3PO101 Foundations of Entrepreneurship at the Department of Entrepreneurship, a lecture by David Makovský took place in October. David is a successful graduate of VŠE, a graduate of our minor specialization in Entrepreneurship, and co-founder of the brand Mementerra. Students learned how he built a company with more than 100,000 products sold, which sales channels he used, and how the sale of the company to Albi was carried out. David shared practical tips for starting a business, including team values, financial planning, and warnings about common mistakes.

The lecture offered not only valuable insights but also motivation to take action. As one participant noted:
“The most important thing is to start, and everything else can be figured out along the way.”

At the end, David introduced his current role at eHotel, a company that enables travel using benefit points.
