Startup Night

🚀 Inter-university Meeting of Students Interested in Startups, Innovation and Socially Responsible Business

Startup Night is an informal networking event that connects students from various universities with startup founders, investors, and industry professionals. Participants can take part in hands-on workshops, engage in discussions with VIP guests, and share their ideas in a stimulating and inspiring environment. The event encourages open exchange, collaboration, and the building of a community of individuals who strive to make a positive impact on the world around them.

The concept of Startup Night was initiated by Michal Andera, a member of the Department of Entrepreneurship at the Prague University of Economics and Business (VĹ E). He envisioned the event as a space for interdisciplinary meetings among students interested in entrepreneurship, innovation, and social responsibility. The success of Startup Night later inspired the creation of the broader platform UniStarter, which connects academic institutions with entrepreneurial practice and supports student entrepreneurship across universities.

Startup Night is not a one-off event, but part of a broader ecosystem that brings together students, academics, and professionals from the field. The program regularly features inspiring guests who share valuable insights from the worlds of innovation, investment, and business development. Among them:

  • Tomáš Havryluk – former executive at Alza.cz, who shared his experience in scaling a tech company and leading innovation.
  • Vojta RoÄŤek – entrepreneur and investor known for his work in data analytics and startup mentoring.
  • Presto Ventures – a venture capital fund focused on tech startups in Central and Eastern Europe, offering an investor’s perspective on early-stage projects.

Startup Night creates a space where students can learn directly from those who drive innovation and build meaningful connections that may shape their future professional paths.
