UniStarter

Connecting Students, Academia, and Innovation Across Universities

UniStarter is an inter-university platform that supports student entrepreneurship, technological innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. It was initiated by Michal Andera, a member of the Department of Entrepreneurship at the Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE), as a natural extension of the successful networking event Startup Night. The event served as a catalyst for the creation of a long-term concept that bridges academic institutions with entrepreneurial practice.

Today, UniStarter actively contributes to the development of the startup and knowledge transfer ecosystem across Czech universities. Its focus includes:

  • Connecting students from business and technology fields – fostering interdisciplinary teams with strong innovation potential.
  • Facilitating collaboration among academics across institutions – building a network of experts who support entrepreneurship and knowledge transfer.
  • Creating a database of innovations and technologies – offering an overview of projects ready for commercialization through startups, spin-offs, or licensing.
  • Sharing open challenges and opportunities – linking students with real-world projects, mentors, and investors.

UniStarter aims to create an environment where students learn through experience, build meaningful partnerships, and contribute to the development of sustainable entrepreneurship. The platform is built on values of openness, collaboration, and social responsibility.
