Partners from Česká spořitelna lectured on financing startups
Ondřej Vaněk and Marta Hejlová, both graduates of the Prague University of Economics and Business, gave a lecture on the possibilities of financing startups. Students were introduced to examples of successful entrepreneurs who managed to turn their hobby into a business. We discussed different types of loans and guarantees that can help entrepreneurs. Students were able to test their knowledge of managerial accounting and determine the type of business to include in the profit and loss statement presented.
The students’ reflection is positive. They rate the discussion on the challenges and risks associated with financing startups and small businesses as particularly enlightening. Very useful information was provided on bank guarantees, which some students had not heard of before.
